Couple Faces Bankruptcy of Business for not Baking Lesbian Cake

Posted on February 17, 2015 by Michael Ware — 118 Comments

People in Oregon are having the understanding of discrimination redefined for them by the state. To discriminate used to mean that you would treat others differently or deny them something based on their race, nationality, gender, and or age. Now, the state is stretching this definition to include “sexual orientation.” This means that those who are self-proclaimed homosexuals can not be denied the same status as sny other.

Christiannews.net is reporting:

A judge with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries has ruled that the Christian owners of a bakery in the state are guilty of discrimination for declining to make a “wedding” cake for a lesbian couple, thus moving them to the sentencing phase where heavy fines could bankrupt their business.

This is over the baking of a cake for a lesbian union. The report continues:

Aaron and Melissa Klein operate Sweet Cakes by Melissa in Gresham, which is now operated from the couple’s home after the Kleins’ shut their doors due to harassment. In January 2013, Aaron was approached by a mother and her daughter as the two were interested in a cake for the daughter’s upcoming wedding—to her lesbian partner.

“My first question was what’s the wedding date,” Klein told television station KTW in Portland. “My next question was [the] bride and groom’s name. … The girl giggled a little bit and said, ‘It’s two brides.’”

He stated that he then informed the women that the bakery does not make cakes for homosexual events.

“I apologized for wasting their time and said that unfortunately, we do not do same-sex marriages,” Klein explained.

One of the ladies went and reported the bakery to the state and charges were filed. Now that they have been convicted of breaking the law they face fines. These fines will likely bankrupt the couple, who is currently working out of their home.

The problem is not that they refused to serve sodomites at all. They regularly sold their products to them and have no problem in continuing to do so. They simply did not feel that their consciences would allow them to participate in this wedding.

“We were being asked to participate in something that we could not participate in,” Klein’s wife, Melissa, noted.

But state spokesman Charlie Burr wrote in a statement:

“The law provides an exemption for religious organizations and schools, but does not allow private businesses to discriminate based on sexual orientation, just as they cannot legally deny service based on race, sex, age, disability or religion,” he said. “The bakery is not a religious institution under the law.”

And this is the rub for the bakery. If you are not a church organization, you cannot refuse to take part. At least not without paying a hefty fine. A fine some are saying could be as high as $150,000.

We are living in a society that says that it will cost too much to disagree. You not only have to allow sodomite unions, you have to say they are good. It is as I have said many times before, thought control. May God protect this couple as they pay for their faith.

JESUS VS. MUHAMMAD: 33 Stonking And Striking Differences

JESUS VS. MUHAMMAD: 33 Stonking And Striking Differences
Posted on February 21, 2015

There are some major differences here. Please forward to Obama, he might learn a thing or two.

1) Their Sin:

Firstly, Jesus, according to the Biblical record, was sinless whilst Mohammad, according to the Koranic record, was sinful. In Mecca Muhammad received a command about his sin:

“Then have patience (O Muhammad). Lo! the promise of Allah is true. And ask forgiveness of thy sin and hymn the praise of thy Lord at fall of night and in the early hours.”(Surah 40:55)

2) Their tombs:

It is a historical fact that Jesus’ tomb was found to be empty by some of his women followers, as the Austrian scholar Jacob Kremer notes: “By far most exegetes hold firmly to the reliability of the biblical statements concerning the empty tomb.”

Yet Muhammad’s body is still in his grave. Although Muslims may claim that his soul has gone to heaven none to my knowledge claims that his tomb is empty or that he was bodily raised like Jesus.

3) Their deaths:

According to the Biblical and Koranic records respectively Jesus died for the sins of the world whilst Muhammad died from poisoning.

4) Their dealing with sexual sins:

In Surah 24:2 Mohammad says:

“The fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of the believers witness their punishment. [This punishment is for unmarried persons guilty of the above crime (illegal sex), but if married persons commit it (illegal sex), the punishment is to stone them to death, according to Allah’s law.”

Muhammad as portrayed within the Koran and within the Hadiths paints a rather brutal scene, yet we see a vast difference with Jesus. Firstly, Jesus explains why there are vices such as adultery. In the Sermon on the Mount, regarding the sins of adultery and lust, he says:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Matt. 5:27-28)

5) Their Violence:

Jesus sets a very high standard for his followers to emulate if they are to “take up his cross and follow” him (Matthew 16:24). When Jesus was interrogated by the authorities he says:

“My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” (John 18:36)

Muhammad paints for us an altogether different picture as, which the Koran attests to, he committed assassinations, as well as threatened to murder over ten people. These threats stemmed from the fact these people offended him in some way, some, for example, wrote satirical poems about him. In Surah 33:60-61 Muhammad says:

“If the hypocrites, the sick of heart, and those who spread lies in the city [Medina] do not desist, We shall arouse you [Prophet] against them, and then they will only be your neighbors in this city for a short while. They will be rejected wherever they are found, and then seized and killed.”

6) Their confrontation with Satan:

Sayyid Abul A’La Maududi, a well-known Islamic commentator, says that the hadiths on Muhammad’s bewitchment, and influences from magic, are evident: “As far as the historical aspect is concerned, the incident of the Holy Prophet’s being affected by magic is absolutely confirmed.” According to the Hadith traditions Muhammad was negatively affected by magic.

On the hand Jesus exercised a great authority over powers of darkness, as well as took Satan head on. In Luke 4:33-35 we read on Jesus’ encounter with a demon:

“In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an evil spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice, “Ha! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God! “Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.”

7) Their religious freedom:

Jesus says: “If anyone comes after [follows] me” . . . (Matthew 17:24). Jesus let people decide for themselves, if they refuse to follow him then so bet it. The word “if” implies freedom in choosing to either accept the way of Jesus or to reject it. Unlike Muhammad there was no army or power that tried to force people to believe.

Whereas Muhammad forcefully imposes his will, we read in Surah 9:5:

“Then, when the months made unlawful for fighting expire, kill the mushriks [polytheists] wherever you find them, and seize them, and besiege them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent, establish Salat [prayer five times a day] and pay the Zakat dues [charity tax], then let them go their way.” (Maududi, The Meaning of the Qur’an, vol. 2, p. 175; insertions mine).

8) Muhammad said that Allah does not love those who reject Islam (Koran 30:45, 3:32, 22:38), whereas Jesus said that God loves everyone whether they believe in him or not (John 3:16). The Christian God is all loving and is unconditional in his love, whereas Allah’s love is strictly conditional.

9) Jesus condemned stealing: “Thou shall not steal” (Matthew 19:18), whereasMuhammad permitted stealing from unbelievers: “The people felt hungry and captured some camels and sheep (as booty)” (Bukhari 44:668).

10) Muhammad permits lying (Sahih Muslim 6303, Bukhari 49:857) whilst Jesus does not: “Thou shalt not bear false witness” (Matthew 19:18).

11) Jesus never owned slavers, or traded them, whereas Muhammad did: “Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Sell him to me” (Sahih Muslim 3901).

12) Whereas Jesus preached forgiveness (Matthew 18:21-22, 5:38), Muhammad did not. We saw above that he assassinated those who mocked or ridiculed him.

13) Muhammad taught revenge: “If then anyone transgresses the prohibition against you, Transgress ye likewise against him” (Koran 2:194), whereas Jesus did not: “If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also” (Matthew 5:39).

14) Their personal and private relationships differed greatly. Jesus was celibate, whereas Muhammad Married 13 wives and kept sex slaves (Bukhari 5:268, Koran 33:50).

15) Muhammad had sex with a nine year old (Bukhari 5:268, Koran 33:50) whereasJesus never had sex with children.

16) The peace factor of their teachings were staunchly antithetical, according toMuhammad jihad in the way of Allah elevates one’s position in Paradise by a hundredfold (Muslim 4645), whereas Jesus says: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called Sons of God” (Matthew 5:9).

17) Their approaches to women was different. Jesus forgave prostitutes, and even had women followers. However, Muhammad murdered women (Ibn Ishaq 819, 995).

18) Jesus never commanded or ordered combat campaigns or war on unbelievers, whereas Muhammad order at least 65 such campaigns in the final ten years of his life (Ibn Ishaq).

19) In those final years Muhammad killed many captives in battle: “ Then a man drew his sword and cut off his son’s foot so that he fell down and Umayya [the boy’s father] let out a cry such as I have never heard… They hewed them to pieces with their swords until they were dead.” (Ibn Ishaq 451, Ishaq/Hisham 449), whereas Jesus never captured or killed anyone.

20) Jesus never enslaved women or ever raped them, whereas Muhammad did (Abu Dawood 2150, Koran 4:24).

The Natural Healing Powers Of The Dead Sea

The Natural Healing Powers Of The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea, also known as the Sea of Salt, the Primordial Sea, and the Plains Sea, appears for the first time in Genesis when Abraham and Lot part ways. Lot searches for a place to live and chooses the area just north of the Dead Sea. “Lot looked up and saw the whole region of the Jordan. He noticed that all of it was well-watered (before the LORD obliterated Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, all the way to Zoar. “(Genesis 13:10)

Sodom was a metropolis surrounded by cities, at the Southern end of the Dead Sea. The area around the Jordan River and the Dead Sea was then rich and fertile. It appears that the “Sea of Salt” was full of salt and minerals then, as well, but the salt concentration was far less. It is possible that the Jordan River was quite large and overflowed often – irrigating the surrounding land. It is possible that many subsidiary streams from the center of Israel flowed with water and emptied into the Dead Sea, concurrently watering the banks and turning that area into “the garden of the Lord.” This was the place that Lot chose to live and ultimate escape to the neighboring mountains as God sent angels to destroy the Sodom metropolis.

Since that day, the area around the Dead Sea has lain desolate, a hot and dry desert. The Dead Sea itself began to lose water, and parts of the area were covered with natural tar pits “the Valley of Sidim” (Genesis 14:3). Overlooking the sea are the Judean hills, replete with caves in which King David hid from Saul, and later during the Greek period the Jewish sect of the Essenes wrote and stored the Dead Sea Scrolls, preserved by the arid climate of the region, and were discovered in those very caves thousands of years later in the mid 20th century.

Yet the Dead Sea, a sea which is believed that can support no life, holds a treasure of minerals such as potash, bromine, magnesium Sodium Chloride, and more which are produced by the Israeli Dead Sea Works Ltd. There is a huge tourist industry on the banks of the Dead Sea where people come to relax, enjoy and be healed by the natural minerals. The Dead Sea is anything but “dead”. Israel has learned to utilize all the treasures that have lied dormant within for centuries.
Eventually, says prophet Ezekiel, there is something more dramatic yet to transpire. In chapter 47 Ezekiel describes a vision of the “end of days” where a man shows him water flowing from the holy Temple eastward and southward through dry riverbeds. “He said to me, “These waters go out toward the eastern region and flow down into the Arabah; when they enter the Dead Sea, where the sea is stagnant, the waters become fresh.” Further on the verses continue, “Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.” This spiritual process that the Dead Sea will undergo symbolizes a greater process that all of Israel will undergo, bringing peace and healing to the world.

Israel Launches First Bible Marathon

ViestiKirjoittaja Annukka » 24.03.2015 07:08

Israel Launches First Bible Marathon

For the first time in some 2,000 years, an upcoming long-distance marathon will give participants the opportunity to experience ancient Israel like never before.

One of the first runs recorded in human history, long before the “marathon” famous in Greek mythology, is mentioned in the Bible at the beginning of the Book of Samuel, where it is written: “Then a man of Benjamin ran from the battle line the same day, and came to Shiloh with his clothes torn.”

The “man of Benjamin” ran from Eben HaEzer to ancient Shiloh to recount the end of the war between the Israelites and the Philistines. The runner’s mission was to inform Eli, the High Priest of Israel, of defeat in the war, the tragic death of his sons and the capture of the Ark of the Covenant.

Many centuries later, in the 1970s, the founder of Israel’s Olympic Maccabiah games, Yosef Yekutieli, set out to measure the length of the course from Rosh Ha’ayin, the location of the ancient battle between the Israelites and the Philistines, to Shiloh in the Benjamin region. He was amazed to find that the length of this historic path precisely matched that of the modern marathon – 42 kilometers, the official length of the Olympic running contest.

It is in tribute to this unique coincidence that the first long-distance run in history, as recounted in the bible, is being re-enacted in an athletic event that will include hundreds of participants from Israel and overseas.

The runners, participating in the event scheduled for April 9th, will traverse the course of the “man of Benjamin,” passing several thriving communities that are set among picturesque vineyards and olive groves. The run concludes among the ruins and mosaics of ancient Shiloh, where an exciting celebration will be held.

Runners in the Bible Marathon are offered three choices:
• 42 km (26 mi) full marathon – from Rosh Ha’ayin to Ancient Shiloh.
• 15 km (9mi) heat – starts at Ariel University, finish at Ancient Shiloh.
• 5 km (3 mi) popular run – around Ancient Shiloh.

Op-Ed: Will the messiah come soon?

Jewish prophesies indicate that recent events in Yemen and the Ukraine have the potential of bringing about the messianic era. The blood moon set to occur this Passover suggests that something significant to the Jewish people could happen.

Right as the Jewish people are preparing to celebrate Passover, Yemen appears to be heading into a protracted struggle between the Houthi rebels backed by Iran and a Sunni-led alliance headed by Saudi Arabia. Although I am no prophet and I am not a great rabbi like my ancestor the Vilna Gaon was, based on my understanding of the Jewish scriptures, it appears that the messianic age is near.

According to Arutz Sheva, a Jewish text known as the Yalkut Shimona states, “In the year in which the Messiah-King appears, all the nations of the world are provoking each other. The King of Persia provokes an Arab king and the Arab king turns to Aram for advice. And the King of Persia goes back and destroys the entire world. And all the nations of the world are in panic and distress and they fall upon their faces and are seized with pains like those of a woman giving birth and Israel is in panic and distress.”

Persia is the ancient name for Iran and the totalitarian dictator of Iran has just provoked Saudi Arabia, which is ruled by an Arab King, prompting him to turn to Aram, whom Jewish scholars interpret to be Edom (Rome representing Europe and the US). Bloomberg reported that Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States Adel al Jubeir stated that their response to Iran backing the Houthi rebels that took over Yemen was coordinated with the United States, in other words Edom or Aram.

If the rest of the prophesy plays out, then Iran will respond to the Arab king by trying to destroy the entire world. Interestingly, as we speak, Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program. They declared themselves to be the Farsi Empire and they are making moves to take over the entire Middle East from Yemen to Syria to Lebanon and Iraq. According to the Twelfth Shia ideology that guides the ideology of Ayatollah Khamenei who is the true ruler of Iran, Israel is to be destroyed before the mahdi’s (Shia messiah’s) appearance and the clerics ruling Iran believe that Khamenei is the one mentioned in a centuries old Hadith who will prepare for the mahdi, World Net Daily reported. It is critical to note that this existential threat to Israel’s right to exist emanating from Iran causes Israel to be in “panic and distress,” as Netanyahu’s speeches testify to.

Other clues that the messiah may soon come have appeared as well. According to my ancestor the Vilna Gaon, “When you hear that the Russians have captured the Crimea, you should know that the times of the messiah have started and that his steps are being heard. And when you know that the Russians have reached Constantinople (today’s Istanbul), you should put on your Shabbat clothes and don’t take them off because it means that the messiah is about to come any minute.”

Russia has already invaded the Crimea. The question is, when will the Russians reach Istanbul? Already, there is a cause for Turkey to get involved in the Crimean crisis. Crimea is ethnically divided between two minorities, Tatars, a Turkic ethnic group that opposes Russian annexation, and ethnic Ukrainians. According to a report in Open Democracy: “The annexation of Crimea by Russia is widely seen as a huge step back for the Crimean Tatars, who won the right to return to their homeland only in 1989, long after Stalin ordered the NKVD to deport them to Central Asia en masse in 1944. Despite winning moderate self-autonomy and property rights after Ukraine became independent in 1991, the achievements of the past two decades are now precarious at best. Reports of kidnapping, intimidation, and criminal investigations continue to emerge from the recently-occupied peninsula.”

The plight of the Tartars could prompt Turkey to get involved in the Crimea crisis and if they do that could lead to the realization of the Vilna Gaon’s prophesy. Already, Reuters reported that Turkey offered a $50 million loan to the Ukraine in order to help them better protect the persecuted Tartars. As Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated, “We have expressed our support for the territorial integrity, political union, and sovereignty of the Ukraine including the Crimea in every platform. We also wish for the continuation of Ukraine’s stance on protecting the rights of all ethnic and religious minorities, especially Crimean Tartar Turks, who have proved their loyalty to their country during this crisis.”

Erdogan has repeatedly warned that the instability in the region could have implications, even though at this time Turkey continues to develop trade relations with Russia. While the Turkish government’s ties with Russia have so far caused Turkey to refrain from taking strong action, Turkey’s membership in NATO could force the country to stop its balancing act between supporting the Tartars while trying to maintain ties with Russia should the tensions between the West and Moscow intensify.

Aside from the Vilna Gaon and Yalkut Shimona prophesies, NASA reported the appearance of a tetrad of lunar eclipses otherwise known as four blood moons with four dark suns. The first ones occurred on Passover and Sukkot of last year. The second pair is scheduled to occur this Passover and Sukkot this year. Such a rare heavenly phenomenon has only occurred three other times in human history. According to the Times of Israel, a tetrad of lunar eclipses occurred following the Jewish expulsion from Spain and the discovery of the New World in 1492; the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948; and the Six Days War in 1967. It does not take a rocket scientist to ponder, will something significant to the history of the Jewish people happen this year, especially given Jewish teachings claiming that the messiah is more likely to come during the months of Tishrei and Nissan?

In every generation, Judaism teaches that there is a potential for the messiah to come. According to the Jewish belief, G-d can bring the messiah in any generation but it also has some deadline and there are things that lead to the messiah coming in the end of days. Whether this period of time is an era with great potential for the messiah to come or actually the events leading up to the deadline, we don’t know. We don’t know if it is the last generation when the messiah will come regardless due to a specific deadline or whether we are living during a generation where there is a great chance for the messiah to come but he may actually end up coming in another era.

What we do know is that according to the Jewish tradition, if we treat each other respectfully and do our best to bring holiness to this world, by behaving humanely and justly to one another, it can help bring about the messianic age quicker. According to Hosea 6:6, “I desire loving kindness and not sacrifices, and knowledge of G-d more than burnt offerings.” The Jewish people in Israel are now more united than ever! For the most part, we no longer feel a difference between Ashkenazim and Sephardim, between Mizrahim and Beta Israel. We live in a democracy that respects women’s rights, human rights, minority rights, freedom of assembly, and freedom of the press. We have an inspirational justice system that doesn’t arrest and prosecute people without good cause! Our neighbors can only dream of obtaining what we have in Israel! Therefore, let us pray that the messianic era will come soon and we will witness peace in our time, where nations will no long lift up swords against other nations and the need for war will not exist any more!
