Hagee: Israel is not an 'occupier' but the owner of the land

"So take that principle and apply it to the people who call themselves Christians. There are Christians who claim to be anti-Semitic. That is an oxymoron. Christianity is driven by a love. Anti-Semitism is driven by hate. You cannot be a Christian anti-Semite; You are either a Christian or an anti-Semite. Bottom line, if you are not for Israel and the Jewish people, you either are biblically ignorant or you're not a Christian."

Q: Finally, on the eve of the Jewish New Year, what would you like to wish the people of Israel?

"Our prayer and our blessing for the State of Israel is that they have a lasting peace, when they can enjoy the fruit and benefits of living in this democratic country; and that their children and their children's children will no longer be under constant threat of war from radical groups, but will prosper and be blessed."

From Zimbabwe to China: "Shana Tova"

Citizens from all over the world send a recorded "Shana Tova" greeting to Channel 2 News readers in a special worldwide project

Sep 24, 2014, 04:30PM | Yael Klein

A special project: citizens from all over the world send a recorded greeting to Channel 2 News readers. Kids from Azerbaijan, an old man from India, a bus driver from the Netherlands and even a Mickey Mouse from Hollywood – dozens accepted the challenge. Watch the ravishing result.

Happy New Year Israel, from us, citizens of the world: the passing Jewish year was not a simple one for Israel – especially not in the international section. In the last few months many gathered all over the world, protesting against Israel – even calling out to boycott it following Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. However, among all those hostile voices, there are people who care deeply for Israel – enough to except a-once-in-a-year challenge: to wish the Israelis a happy New Year – sending the greeting from their whereabouts – all the way to us here in Israel.

Many throughout the world accepted the "Happy New Year from Overseas" challenge we gave them – and warm wishes, moving and sometimes amusing, made their way to us from all over the globe: from far Australia, through China, Thailand and Cambodia in the Far East – to the cold Scandinavian countries, to the Black Continent, and even to Argentina in South America.

The Shana Tova initiative crossed borders – reaching all continents of the Earth: in Australia it caught a local resident in the middle of the street and in Japan a nice-looking woman in a traditional costume placed herself in front of the camera wishing us a sweet year. Our camera even got to a gym in Cape Town in South Africa and to far-away Zimbabwe.

On the eve of the New Year, all that is left to do is thank the citizens of the world for their warm wishes – and wish them back to have a good year.

Arab youth leaves after receiving death threats for supporting Israel

After posting a video in which he says he is a Muslim but also a loyal citizen to Israel and its democratic values, the Israeli Arab youth received a series of death threats, including from his own family members.

An Israeli Arab youth from northern Israel who spoke out against the kidnapping and later murder of three Israeli teens in June has been forced to leave the country due to threats on his life.

In June, the youth posted a video on Facebook in which he condemned the kidnapping of the three yeshiva students Eyal Yifrach, Gil-Ad Shaer and Naftali Frenkel, called the kidnappers and their supporters cowards and called for the return of the abducted teens, who at the time were believed to possibly be alive.

One of the youth's videos in which he says he is a Muslim but also a loyal citizen to the State of Israel and its democratic values went viral. The attention brought a slew of angry responses from the Arab sector. After a series of threats on his life, including by some family members, the youth was forced to go into hiding.

Over the weekend the youth opened a new Facebook page, after taking down the previous page, and wrote in English, "I am an Arab Muslim and proud Zionist."

The teen wrote on the page that he was living abroad after having to leave Israel due to threats on his life.

"He is a wonderful person who has never done anything bad to anyone," his mother, who supported his move abroad, said. "The treatment he is getting is not fair. The treatment I am also getting, it's as if he killed someone. People turn their back to me and will not speak to me. We don't deserve this kind of treatment."
