So Great Salvation

ViestiKirjoittaja Annukka » 10.04.2014 09:57

So Great Salvation

We can be so thankful that Jesus didn't say, "I have come that you might get by." His proclamation to those who believe is "I have come to give you life abundant."

Jesus didn't come to give a "so-so salvation" but,
"so great a salvation."

The Apostle Paul knew what Jesus was talking about.
He understood it! He received it! He lived it!
Here are a few of the things he said about his life in Jesus:
I am more than a conqueror through Him;
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me;
He causes me to triumph and reign in life.

Paul reminds us that whatever we had going against us in our life without Christ, we have so much more going for us now that we are in Christ. The Gospel truly is a "so much more" salvation.

Forgiven

Forgiveness is the greatest gift and most profound joy we can ever experience.

In Christ's arms of love we find rest for our weary hearts, freedom from shame, and hope for a glorious future.

You can be forgiven! Simply turn your heart toward Jesus. Confess your need for Him and allow the blood of His sacrifice to cover every part of your life.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

One Victorious Empty Tomb

One victorious empty tomb,
One life,
One death,
One world changed forever.

God's power is very great for us who believe... the same as the great strength God used to raise Christ from the dead and put Him at His right side in the heavenly world. God has put Christ over all. Ephesians 1:19-21 NCV

Israel to Miss Out on 'Blood Moon' Phenomenon

Israel to Miss Out on 'Blood Moon' Phenomenon

Sunday, April 13, 2014 | Ryan Jones

The scheduled appearance of four total lunar eclipses on major Jewish holidays between this Monday night (the start of Passover 2014) and September 27, 2015 (the start of Sukkot) has the attention of much of the Christian world. But the eclipses are going to go almost totally unseen in Israel.

Data published by NASA reveals that all but the last of the four eclipses will not be visible from the Middle East, and even the fourth will only be partially visible.

Total lunar eclipses - what are often referred to as “blood moons” - are not uncommon, 13 of them having occurred since 2000. And, since both Passover and Sukkot are scheduled on the full moon, both have occasionally coincided with blood moons, the last time being the start of Sukkot in 1996.

Somewhat less common are tetrads - four consecutive total lunar eclipses with no intervening partial eclipses - which has occurred 62 times since the year 0 AD.

Seven times in the past 2000 years, a tetrad has coincided perfectly with Passover and Sukkot. One of those tetrads began just prior to the outbreak of the Six Day War in 1967. Two others (in 1493 and 1949) began more than a year after the expulsion of the Jews from Spain and the State of Israel’s declaration of independence, respectively. The other four occurred during times of no particular significance to the Jewish people.

Egyptian Coptic church reiterates ban on travel to Israel

Fr. Royce Morcos, official spokesman for the Alexandria Orthodox Church in Egypt, issued a statement recently declaring that any Egyptian Coptic Christians who dared to visit Israel during the Easter holiday would face punishment when they returned home. The statement reiterated the longstanding position of the Egyptian Coptic Church banning so-called "normalization" with the Jewish State, which was affirmed by Coptic Pope Tawadros II in a statement to the Egyptian daily Al-Masry Al-Youm, which was published on Saturday. Despite this, several thousand Coptic Christians are believed to be either already in Jerusalem or planning to visit over the Easter holiday, where they will be joined by many more Christians from around the world.

So I do not wonder anymore why so many in Egyptian Coptic church have been murdered.....

His Name is Jesus

by Max Lucado

HIS DEATH
Jesus... The palm that held the universe took the nail of a soldier. On the eve of the cross, Jesus made His decision. He would rather go to hell for you than go to heaven without you.

HIS RESURRECTION
Jesus... The moment He removed the stone, He removed all reason for doubt. Christ's resurrection is an exploding flare announcing to all sincere seekers that it is safe to believe.

We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. I John 2:1

What We Fear

ViestiKirjoittaja Annukka » 17.04.2014 21:16

This Morning's Inspirational Story

What We Fear

The great composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) lived much of his life in fear of deafness. He was concerned because he felt the sense of hearing was essential to creating music of lasting value.

When Beethoven discovered that the thing he feared most was coming rapidly upon him, he was almost frantic with anxiety. He consulted doctors and tried every possible remedy. But the deafness increased until at last all hearing was gone.

Beethoven finally found the strength he needed to go on despite his great loss. To everyone’s amazement, he wrote some of his grandest music after he became totally deaf. With all distractions shut out, melodies flooded in on him as fast as his pen could write them down. His deafness became a great asset.

He Saw You

What an incredible journey Jesus made;
what an overwhelming expression of love He undertook;
what an awesome purpose He had in mind.
You were on His heart.
When He left His home in heaven,
He saw you;
when He became a man on earth,
He was seeking you;
when He stretched out His hands upon the cross,
He was reaching out to you;
when He returned to His Father,
He was preparing a place for you.
You are the sheep He has come to shepherd, to guide,
to feed, to protect, to shelter, and to carry.
You are the one He calls His own.
-Roy Lessin

There's no greater love
than the love of Jesus

There's no love that's wiser, that's stronger,
that lasts longer, that's more willing or thrilling.
There's no love more beautiful, more bountiful,
more bold, more basic and unbiased.

There's no love more gracious, more giving,
more living, more sacred, more selfless,
more soul-satisfying, more pure and undying.
There's no love more verifiable, more valuable,
more validating, more victorious, more glorious.

There's no love more precious, more costly, more kingly.
There's no love that's greater-that's more wonderful,
more wild, more passionate, more powerful - than the love of Jesus.
